Come and see the brand NEW Fresh Sugar blog - www.freshsugarblog.com! I'm so excited to unveil it today, it's been a work-in-progress since January.
I'll be adding some more features in the next few weeks, including an information page for other photographers.

That's right, you and your favorite child (lol) will be sitting in the 9th row to watch Murray, Anthony, Jeff and the new guy eat their fruit salad and drive around in their big red car. I jest, it's actually a really fun concert, we went last time they were here and had a blast. Plus, Anthony is pretty darn cute.

This mom-to-be was absolutely stunning! It was a quick and easy maternity session a few weeks ago, and I'm really excited to come back for the newborn session very soon!

I have throw a big thanks out to all of you who were so patient with me this last week as I recovered from this brutal flu.
I'm finally feeling better, and things are getting back to normal around here.
I have tons of client shots to share this week, and will finally be releasing the new BLOG! It's in the finishing touches right now, and as soon as I get a few things tweaked - it'll be unveiled! I'm really excited.

I just wanted to let everyone know that it's going to be a couple more days until I can get back to your emails from the last week.
Almost immediately after returning home from Las Vegas I was hit by the flu in a BIG way, I've been completely knocked by this thing. As soon as everything stops hurting, I'll be back to work. Thanks for your patience. :)

So this is my last baby to share before I leave for Vegas on Wednesday! This little cutie was SO darn good, she slept through almost the entire session. I don't know how Mom & Dad do it though, they just moved into a new home right before she came - THEN got the flu! Super-parents for sure. :)

So Wednesday morning I leave to Las Vegas for WPPI, a photography convention and tradeshow. I'm going early to take a workshop with the awesomely talented Chris Lalonde from Photolux Studio. His fashion stuff rocks my world, and I'm so excited to learn from him. I also have a personal 90 minute mentoring session with Stephen and Jen Bebb from Bebb Studios.

It's going to be talent everywhere down there - I'm heading down with my bestest pals: Danna Bowes, Alicia Price and Deanna Hall. I get to meet some super skilled photogs that I've only ever chatted with online - like Joyce Smith and Susan Braswell. My only sad point is my fab friend Jinky who was all the way over from Australia to teach some workshops was missing home and is now back down under. Now who will I play roulette with and laugh hysterically over 5am breakfasts with this year?
Dawn Roberts, that's who!

I'm also excited to be taking a boudoir workshop while I'm down there, so I will be looking for guinea pigs, er, models, to photograph when I get back!

So an action-packed two weeks for sure, but I'll be missing my little Fresh Sugar newborns while I'm down in Sin City. Ok, maybe not missing . . . but I look forward to seeing them when I get back!
Oh, and I won't get a chance to unveil it before I leave - so watch for the NEW blog when I get back, as well as some new website coolness. :)

A Few of My Favorite Things

I wanted to tell you all about the great time I had last night - I went to Flames Central for a fundraiser put on by The Flames Better Halves. It was raising money for the Flames Foundation of Life with funds directed to Rotary/Flames House, Alberta’s first free-standing pediatric hospice.
It was an amazing event, first class all the way. Wine was flowing, the Better Halves did a fab job of modeling on the catwalk, and my favorite part was bidding on the incredible baskets put together by the Flames and their wives. The baskets were filled with their "favorite things" and included things like lululemon gift certificates (the Aucoin basket), Royal Kona coffee (the Langkow basket), Gladiator on DVD (the Tanguay basket) and an iPod touch (the Kiprusoff basket).
But my very favorite basket was made by Susan and Stephane Yelle - I loved it so much I had to bid 3 times in the silent auction to finally win it. It was so packed with awesomeness that I had to go and pull my car around front - I could barely carry it out the front door! It had great treats like Lush gift certificates, Jo Malone bath oil, Williams Sonoma cupcake mix (my fave), Planet Earth DVDs and lots lots more. My husband was happy to see something for him - Anthony shave gel and facial mosturizer.
I had a wonderful time meeting lots of really cool women, eating delicious food and tasting a few glasses of different wines. (The Pinot Grigot was my favorite). But I think the best part was seeing my gift certificate from Fresh Sugar Photography being given away as a door prize and hearing the women behind me groan in disappointment when their numbers weren't called.
It was such a neat idea, and I can't wait for next year's - which I am sure will be bigger and better (if that's even possible!)
It got me thinking about what I would put in my own "favorite things" basket.

It would definitely include some Philosophy bath products (Sugar Cookie is the BEST), maybe a Tassimo machine (Chai tea is so delish, but only available in the US right now), a gift certificate to Holt for a pair of Miu Miu pumps, and some Bare Escentuals makeup and brushes (the soft focus blush brush is DIVINE!).

I've been a major slacker in the blog dept. lately. I've been super busy trying to get a whole gaggle of newborn galleries up. It's baby season in Calgary! This little sweetie lives in one of my favorite places, beautiful Canmore, AB. I love driving out there (when the roads are good, lol) it's a really peaceful drive. Just me, my iPod and my speed sometimes a wee bit above the limit. Haha!
I had a very, very easy time at this session - baby wanted to sleep, and sleep she did!

I've got some new stuff to unveil this week about the website, I'm excited to show and tell. Also, I have a super, fab, awesome contest coming up with a prize so cool and amazing that I want to keep it for myself. How's THAT for hype?

Fastest. Newborn. Session. Ever.
I get all kinds of babies - big, little, sleepy, awake. The parents of this little man took me seriously when I told them to have the room warm. We had the heat cranked, the fireplace on, AND a space heater going. We were all sweating, but this guy absolutely loved it. He stayed sleepy and content the ENTIRE time. That almost never happens. It was a great session, and he made me look good. :)

We got a new puppy last week, a Morkie (maltese-yorkie) named Ollie.
My girls instantly fell in love with him, and they've all been getting along great. When the baby isn't squeezing him because she loves him so much, she's following him from room to room making kissing noises. But it's Emma that he loves most - she' been gentle, kind and pretty responsible with him. So far it's been a very easy addition to our family, knock on wood!

Daddy Played Bass

I had a session yesterday with such a cool and fun family. Dad is a bass player for some great bands and wanted to incorporate his bass with his new daughter. It was hit and miss for awhile, but with dad spotting just to the right and wielding a bottle and soother, I think we got what we were after. :)

In recent ads, I used the phrase belly=beauty, and never has it been more evident than during this session.
The lovely mom-to-be just had a radiance about her, and it sounds cliched, but she really did glow.
She looks beautiful, and I can't wait to meet her new little one.

It's been awhile since I've posted here, it's because I'm getting old. I woke up Sunday morning completely unable to move my neck and head. I guess I slept on it funny? It took 3 full days of being on my back to finally start feeling better - but I'll be roaring to go for the sessions this weekend!

Back in November I was graciously invited to speak at the Foothills Camera Club about infant and child photography.
I had no idea I had a fear of public speaking until about 45 minutes before I was scheduled to go on, lol!
I had a great time, and met many wonderful people that evening. If you're interested in photography, I'd highly recommend that you check them out, they have a lot of interesting outings, contests and guest speakers.

Hee hee. This little cutie made me start thinking . . .maybe it's time to have another baby? She was so sweet and what a beautiful little temperament! I had previously met the mom during her friend's newborn session, so it was great to come and do the photos of her own little one. Congrats again on your beautiful little girl!

There are a million reasons why I love what I do, and this is #547. This little cutie is my friend Yolanda's new baby girl. Yo and I used to work together at CMT, what seems to be a million years ago, but I guess was only 7. Thanks to the powers of Facebook, we reconnected and I got the pleasure of taking photos of her new little one and meeting her new husband Dave, and seeing her daughter Tay looking gorgeous and GROWN UP! It was a great day, and I am so happy the document this new stage in their lives.

On the topic of new, there are going to be a lot of new changes for Fresh Sugar in 2008. A new look, new products and new pricing. The new pricing starts February 1st, but if you book before January 31st you will receive current prices. That means you can book a session for May, and still have 2007 prices. If you want a session soon, please email me as I have only one session left for January!

Ok, so she's been my ONLY 2 year old so far this year, but she's still my fave. This little beauty was so sparkly and fun, I could have stayed and played for hours. She was a little shy at first, but I managed to break the ice by pretending to be afraid of things. Hey, I'll do anything for a laugh. I had so much fun meeting this family, we laughed, the baby cried, and I got to show off some of my rad moves a la Backyardigans. Awesome!

Well, the holiday season has come and gone and 2007 is being rung out tonight. I'd like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who made this year so wonderful for me: my clients, my blog readers, and my friends and family.
I'm excited to start 2008 with a bang, I'm starting a new year-long promo called Fresh Ideas. I'll be giving you the full scoop in the next couple of days!

This gorgeous little baby was one of the many Christmas presents that I was lucky to photograph this December. I had tons of fun at the session, it's fabulous when the parents are willing to try anything, and have some ideas of their own - which this shot was one of!

Whew, what a hectic couple of days!
I managed to sneak out this morning for some Boxing Day shopping at Holt Renfrew, (Merry Christmas Brandy, Love Jimmy Choo) and now I'm back on the computer to proof some more sessions. I've been so crazy busy lately, I haven't blogged as much as I've wanted to, I have tons of sessions that I haven't shared here. Maybe my New Year's resolution will be to be a better blogger? ;)
I hope everyone had very, very Happy Holidays and you all got what you wished for. My girls cleaned up like bandits, but I really need to buy more for the baby and less for the 4 year old. A bit of a lopsided Christmas here due to Second Child Syndrome. (ie, she gets the shaft, lol)

This new family has just welcomed home this little sunshine. One of the most peaceful newborns I've had the pleasure of meeting, she was just a total doll throughout the whole session. She was so patient with me, letting me play with some of my brand new and exciting newborn wraps. I'll be previewing more from different sessions this month, I'm excited to add this new look to my newborn photography. Congratulations again Mom and Dad, and enjoy your first holiday season as a family.

I met this wonderful new family last month, and as what usually happens at my newborn sessions, the baby didn't want to sleep.
Of course parents are usually mystified, because baby ALWAYS sleeps. Except when I come over. LOL!
I'm cool with it when babies don't sleep, I love to see their gorgeous newborn eyes, and I know if we all have a little patience, that baby will get sleepy and we can get those scrunchy shots that we all love.
Now, it's easy for me to say, because having patience usually involves mom nursing baby, while I sit and chat and drink coffee and socialize. Fun job, right? ;)

Having patience does work though, because even though most of my clients feel worried that it's only their baby that is awake and/or crying, I'm here to reassure you that it happens. A lot! :)

Pregnancy never looked so good!

I had the pleasure of photographing this gorgeous mom-to-be a couple of weeks ago.
We had rescheduled the session due to snowy weather, and I'm so glad we did!
We had the beautiful backdrop of Eau Claire and while it was chilly, it was nothing like a normal November afternoon.
One of the best parts of this shoot was that mom-to-be was so stylish, she had a TON of awesome maternity clothes that I got to pick for the photos. I totally want to raid her closet if I ever get pregnant again.
Thanks for a great day you two, I had a blast.

So once in awhile I do stupid things at sessions. One time I was joking around with a family and told their mother:

"you're just not a pretty face".

Oh. Dear. God.
I meant to say "you're not just a pretty face". I'm pretty sure I heard crickets after that comment. And a couple of tumbleweeds bounced on through the room.

So today was another entry in the my own Hall of Shame. I sat on a shelving unit while taking photos of the baby.
Not realizing the shelving unit was bolted INTO the wall, and not actually on the floor like I thought. So when the whole thing came crashing down, me included, I could have died. It's too bad someone wasn't taking MY picture at the time.

So again, to my fabulous, wonderful, amazing clients: forgive me. please. I'm an idiot.

We're finally back from our trip to Disneyland. We had a great time, but now it's back to the camera and the computer!

a little deer at the window stood! LOL. I've had this song running though my head while editing these photos. A gorgeous B&B recently turned into a home, in beautiful Canmore. I'm still dreaming about the view they have from their bedroom. Ahhhhh.
Here's one more because I am just in love with their bathroom. It probably would have been weird to ask them if I could take a bath, huh? :)

Cool Families

So I always say I have the coolest clients.
Today was no exception. I often leave sessions feeling like I just hung out with friends for an afternoon instead of working.
My session today was exactly like this, except we even stood talking at my car for another 10 minutes after.
I felt like I was on an awesome playdate, except I had no kids with me, haha.

Isn't she just the sweetest thing? And mom was seriously worried because baby didn't get much sleep.
Speaking of not getting much sleep, I'm back from Las Vegas - unfortunately without my passport.
I've been running around like a chicken with my head cut off the past few days trying to make sure I can get a new passport before my trip to Disneyland in 2 weeks. You do NOT want to tick off a 4 year old with a princess fetish.
I'm also hard at work on proofing and getting up your galleries, so never fear! Hopefully things will be back to normal by the end of the weekend.

Where do I even start with this session? Dad is hilarious, mom is super nice, brother is absolutely gorgeous and baby is super sweet and a great sleeper to boot! I had a wonderful time at their home, and am so excited to edit these photographs.

Sugar Shack Cakes

My daughter Charlotte turned 1 years old last Saturday. Since she is a charter member of the Second Child Society, I procrastinated and neglected almost everything about the party. But from procrastination comes great things!
It was too late to get a cake from my usual place, so I tried something new that I saw at the Calgary's Child fun fair this spring.
Sugar Shack Cakes was absolutely awesome. Not only is the name great (heh heh), but the designs are so cute and the ordering system is extremely easy to navigate. Of course, the proof is in the puddi - er, cake. It was bar none the best cake I think I've ever had. And I am a cake snob. I like cake, and since I don't like frosting, it must be gooood cake. Well not only was this cake delicious, but the frosting was really yummy too!

More Rolls Than A Bakery!

This little cutie had the most roly-poly little body. She was a complete sweetheart, and very, very serious.
I just wanted to pick her up and cuddle her the entire session! We were also able to go outside yesterday for this session - which was surprising to say the least! Thanks very much to this family for a fun Sunday morning!

Back From Kelowna

Whew! We made it back! We had a great time in Kelowna (or Westbank, more accurately) but I think I need a vacation from my vacation! Good thing I have a girl's trip to Vegas next month, lol!

I thought I'd share a few highlights from our trip before getting back to work. Tomorrow everything starts again, so all your questions/orders/galleries will be taken care of. :) Tonight it's some pizza, and some vegging.

I'll start with the photo that makes me laugh the most, and it's my husband Dave on the kid's playground in Kelowna. We went down to the lake to see the Dragon Boat races, but ended up at the wrong park. So of course we had to play before leaving!

We went to the Mission Hill winery one afternoon. We ate lunch at their outdoor restaurant with spectacular views.
Since I could not for the life of me figure out the menu, I had a salad and Dave had a pulled pork sandwich which of course was to die for. The wine was Merlot.

After lunch we went on the tour and tasting which was pretty fun, even though I'm not a huge wine fan.

We also spent some time at the pool and the beach. We heard it snowed in Calgary while we were gone. Brrr!

It was a great trip though, and it was really nice to try to recharge creatively.

And here's the whole family the morning before we left. Wouldn't you know that 20 minutes into the drive home Emma throws up all over herself in her carseat, and has been sick ever since. At least we're home now. :)

#1. I am not a good cook. Actually, I am not a cook at all. I love to bake, but something about spending all that time making something that will disappear in 15 minutes depresses me. I buy a lot of easy to make meal - tortellini and sauce, spaghetti, lots of crockpot stuff.

#2. I am a television junkie. I watch everything I can, and when tv season starts, I have a set schedule of watching every night. Thank goodness for DVRs! Best invention ever! My favorite show ever was Buffy the Vampire Slayer, second was Veronica Mars. I really like shows that get cancelled. LOL! Right now I've been catching up on Heroes on dvd, and I have to say - this show is rivaling LOST for me. It's really gripping, imaginative television. There's still time to catch up on all the episodes before season 2 starts!

#3. I am a bit addicted to technology. Any new kind of gadget, I need to have. Which is why we have a Media Center PC, a laptop PC, a MacBook Pro, and an iMac. You bet I'll be getting an iPhone when they come out in Canada, even though I have two iPods and a Sidekick phone. I waited for hours in the -25 weather for my Wii. If it's new and electronic, I want it.

#4. Guitar Hero is the best game ever. I am a video game junkie. I have every Nintendo system ever made, and I play my DS all the time. But Playstation kicks butt at "cool" games. I first got my PS2 so I could play Karaoke Revolution. (awesome game series, btw), then I got Dance Dance Revolution (my husband's better at it than me) but now it's basically a Guitar Hero Machine. We have face-offs, and everytime we have guests over, we bring out the guitars. Everyone loves playing this game -from my 4 year old to my mother-in-law. I can't wait for GH3 to come out. We got the 80's game, but were disappointed on how few songs there were. And no, I probably won't be getting it for the Wii in a few months. Why? Playstation rocks it!

#5. My favorite soft drink is Dr. Pepper. My favorite fast food is a Mozza burger from A&W. My favorite candy bar is a Wonderbar. My favorite candy is Sweetarts.

#6. I say "zee" instead of "zed". Candy bar instead of chocolate bar. I don't spell neighbor with a "u". I went to school in Los Angeles, California from kindergarden to grade 3 - where I learned the alphabet, how to spell and the only celebrity I ever saw was Elizabeth Montgomery from Bewitched. But yes, I *did* go to school with "Blossom", but we haven't spoken in years and years. Actually I did look her up about 6 years ago, and we exchanged a couple of emails and that's it. I think she was studying neuroscience or something like that. True story.

#7. I think Anthony Wiggle is hot.

#8. I am not afraid of much, but I am deathly afraid of rats. I love that Alberta is rat-free. I can never move away! It's not just rats though, I fear any rodent. And rabbits. I fear rabbits. And birds. Huh. Maybe I am afraid of a lot? LOL!

Haha! This little cutie is gonna be a rockstar, I just know it. I had the pleasure of meeting this very fun and easy-going family last weekend. As what happens sometimes, the weather just didn't want to cooperate with us. Rainy and dreary outside, their kitchen nook had great light. So out went the table. Out went the chairs. Everyone sat on the floor and played with Mr. J. He had a blast, and I think we all did too. :)

I'm a bloggin' fiend these days!
It's because I'm proofing so many session in so little time, just trying to get everyone their galleries out as soon as possible.
This little guy was feeling a bit under the weather at our session, but was still a trooper, giving me lots of smiles and grins.
This shot is my favorite though, his mama was whispering in his ear, and the expression on his face says it all. Pure contentment!

Sleepy

I've been really lucky lately, and been getting some super sleepy newborns. It helps when the heat is cranked up in the house, (to the point where we're sweating), and the baby is less that two weeks old. When they get a little older than that, they are more aware of their surroundings and not so keen to be poked, prodded and moved. This little guy stayed pretty sleepy, waking once in awhile to nurse. Perfection!

On a completely different note, Fresh Sugar is having a policy change. Effective immediately, galleries are online for 1 week after posting. An extension of 3 days can be provided under extenuating circumstances. After that time, all gallery images will be archived OFF my main computer, and will require an archiving fee of $50 to be paid to repost the gallery for 3 more days.

I have several galleries tying up valuable space on my computer right now, and with my recent crash, I don't want to hog unnecessary resources. I want to keep things as streamlined as possible, and help everyone through the ordering process.

Mattel Recalls 9 Million Toys

Mattel is voluntarily recalling 9 million of its toys including popular characters such as Batman, Barbie, Polly Pockets and a toy from Pixar's "Cars" movie because of hazards to children, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said Tuesday.

All affected toys were made in China for Mattel

Wow, that's a lot of toy recalls lately. We didn't have any of those things here, but I do know that some of you have daughters that like Polly Pocket. It's good to know that Mattel is serious about toys hazards though, this is the second recall in a matter of weeks from the company. (Mattel is the parent company of Fisher-Price)

So two weeks after getting it back, my computer got fried again. It's back at the "authorized service technician", who is actually super nice - even if I never want to see him again. Now, if I were you, I would probably tell me to get a new computer, obviously my old hunk of junk isn't cutting it. Except this computer that keeps crashing and dying is only 6 months old. I also got it completely tricked out, and it was top of the line. Macs are not supposed to have these problems, and as my Mac tech-guy tells me, "sometimes bad things just happen". Yes, but twice in one month?

I'm waiting to hear back how long it will take, I am still playing catch-up from the last crash, so I may have to find out a way to work without ol' Big Mac.

***UPDATE***
I just got off the phone with Paul from Bexx Systems (the computer place) and I guess the hard drive is fried. So brand new hard drive for me, yippee! Ok, that was a bit of false enthusiasm, but at least it's going to be fixed. The downside is that it will probably take about a week before I get my machine back.
I can work on my MacBook Pro though, so I'll try to continue on with editing sessions as much as I can. Bad for me, and I guess bad for you in return is that I'll need to start from scratch, so it's going to be slow going. To the girls from the Saskatoon Farm, I'm so sorry - they will be done as soon as I can get caught up. Thanks for your patience!

Fisher-Price Recalls Almost A Million Toys

It was announced this morning that Fisher-Price has recalled 83 different types of toys due to excessive amounts of lead paint.
The recall involves various figures and toys that were manufactured between April 19, 2007 and July 6, 2007 and were sold alone or as part of sets. The toys were sold at retail stores in the US and Canada from May 2007 through August 2007 for between $5 and $40. Consumers should immediately take the recalled toys away from children and contact Fisher-Price. You will need to return the product and will receive a voucher for a replacement toy of the consumer’s choice (up to the value of the returned product).

Yikes! We have a lot of that stuff, but it's all older - so we're ok. Please check the list for any toys you may own or have bought recently. There are a lot of Elmo/Dora/Diego/Backyardigans stuff there.

New Baby Love and a Teaser

This little man has been long, long awaited. It's a bit different to take the photos when you are good friends with the Mom and Dad, and you are just so darn excited that he's here! I kept tearing up at this session because not only is he a little angel, but he's got two loving parents who are just going to be so great at raising him. Welcome to the world baby O'Shea!

Now for the teaser. There is going to be a BIG addition to Fresh Sugar coming this fall. A new side, a new style, a new site.

Big Mac Is Gone!

I had a complete hard drive crash this week, and my computer, which is affectionately named Big Mac, is in for service. They've managed to recover everything, but I had just backed up everything two days before, so all sessions are safe and sound. Unfortunately though, I am not able to work on anything until I get Big Mac back - so I'm sitting by the phone waiting for them to call and tell me to come and get it.

The Moment

As my clients can tell you, I rarely pose anyone, but let everyone interact with each other and I try to capture what's going on.
Of course, sometimes I will brush some strands of hair away, or suggest certain things to do with arms, but I don't go crazy with posed shots.

Which is how I can get these amazing, emotion-filled portraits that just really speak for themselves. I love when I get home and take a look through the photos as I'm uploading them, and I just see that "Moment" that I was lucky enough to be a part of. Sometimes it's a little baby smiling in his sleep, sometimes it's a look or a touch that dad gives to mom.
I seriously have the best job in the world.

This 9-month old guy said his first word in a field of clover at Sunday's session. As he was looking at stalk of clover - he said "daisy"! Ok, maybe not really, but it sure sounded like it. I know I talk an awful lot about fun families, but I am just so lucky! My clients are all just a total hoot, and this fam was no exception. I love my job - I had a fantastic morning at the park!

So I was telling the mom of this little cutie this weekend about how my 4 year old had her first kiss a few days ago.
4 years old! I, showing all the decorum I still possess today, at least waited until I was 5. Well now today, my little woman/child is rocking around the house singing "Hey, Ho - Let's Go" and lest you mistake it for a similar sounding song by some dwarves, know that she has the timing and head-banging down pat.

But back to the little one up top here. I'm just uploading these images onto my computer today, and grabbed this one because the outfit is so fun. Pretty much like the mom and dad. And my daughter.

They're not all happy

So most of the time, newborns are sleepy little angels that I can put on a bookshelf and snap away.
Sometimes though, they wake up. And stay up.
This little guy was such a sweetie, he gave me the BEST eye contact I have ever seen from a newborn. He was so alert. Which means, awake, and not always happy about being placed on stuffed lambs, wicker baskets and the like.
My best advice to ensure a sleepy newborn is to book your newborn session for when baby is just a few days old. 4 days old seems to be the perfect age. Within the first week is best.
And speaking of booking, I'm completely booked for sessions until April 15th. (except for newborns. If you need a session, email me) So if you, or someone you know was planning on getting portraits taken this spring/summer, please book soon. I'm booking 1.5 months in advance right now, and already booking June sessions. Thanks!

Travis is Calgary's Child! His first cover, and mine too. This little guy is a total sweetheart, how many 3 year olds do you know that say ma'am and sir? I'm proud to have taken a photo of such a cute little guy that ended up being on the cover of a magazine.

The parents of this newborn session were so fun to take photos of. They had a nice relaxed attitude, and really made things quite smooth. They mentioned how much the dad looked like the new little man, but I never noticed until I got to this picture!
